3 run lead in the 9th…. 1st save opportunity for a save as a Brewer… Gives up a 3 run bomb to Fukidome. Grrr.
Game isn’t over yet… but that’s not a good start.
Edit: Bailed out in the 10th. Blows the save…gets the win. A win is a win.

I’m just glad the Sox don’t have to deal with him again this year.

I wasn’t happy when they signed him, but you live with the team you’ve got.

Look on the bright side. The Brewers won on opening day. On the road. In spite of their closer. Sheets pitched well. They beat the team many prognosticators expect to win the division (the Cubs), whose closer pitched almost as bad as Gagne.

Oh, I’m not upset in any way. I would have liked Gagne to have just gotten the save, but they won, so it’s all good.
Sheets and Zambrano were pitching gems today, no doubt about it. It’ll be interesting to hear if Zambrano’s cramping was a sign of anything worse.

Glen,
Why the Brew Crew ever gave Gagne 10 mill is beyond me. I was watching that game on Extra Innings and the announcers were even saying he was only throwing his fastball.
What they didnt say was his fastball is no where near as fast as it use to be.
Damn steroid testing!
