This time last week, the Orioles blew yet another game, there was an ESPN article saying the Orioles were sellers because of their atrocious run differential and they had actually dropped to 3rd place and 10 games back.
Today they are 6 games back of NY, 2.5 games up on Tampa Bay and their run differential still sucks.
Wow. Of course Run Differential is not like goal differential in soccer. It doesn’t matter if you lose 22-1 or 1-0 it’s only a loss (in soccer GD is a tiebreaker quite often). I don’t see it being as that big of a deal. What do you think? Of course I’m not sure if the Orioles should give up a lot to get a rental as it’s just not worth it. I mean Thome is 41 and he got 2 HRs this weekend…and that wasn’t a big move in personnel..if they could get Zack G for for cheap, I might go with that.
Still if anyone told me the Orioles would be over .500 in mid-July I’d take it in a heartbeat, let alone competing for the wild card….
Anyone going to see Liverpool at Fenway this week?
