Basically, I can only remember one thing from the various press events. 2015!!!
From the Sony presser, we got news of a remake of Grim Fandango, which is excellent news. Project Morpheus looks a long way out, but could be interesting.
From the Microsoft presser, we got news of a new Crackdown. (If it’s made by the Realtime Worlds, I’m down. If it’s any of the people that made the horrendous second game, not a chance of me playing it.)
Sidenote: I went out and picked up a copy of Crackdown for $3 from Gamestop the other day and it is still a wonderful gaming experience. After 7 years, the game has aged beautifully and I have no idea why Microsoft didn’t do the smart thing and announce a $5 digital download version of the game right after the press conference to remind people of the greatness of the game.
From Nintendo? Lots of 2015 titles, but the ones that they did talk about looked great. Splatoon, Code Name: S.T.E.A.M, an open world Zelda, a new Star Fox?
Coming off of the incredibly awesome Mario Kart 8, Nintendo really has a chance to turn around their fortunes with this lineup (along with the new Yoshi, Toad, and Super Smash Bros titles.)
A while back I was thinking that the WiiU lined up very closely with the Dreamcast, but unlike Sega, Nintendo really has the chance to make this system work long term.
